Stimulants (sometimes called 'uppers')
are substances that stimulate the Central Nervous System or
the Sympathetic Nervous System usually resulting in an
increase in energy, increased heart and respiration rates,
increased blood pressure and often a dilation of the pupils
of the eyes and a decrease in appetite.
